The Halifax Commoner is written, edited and produced by students in the Newspaper Workshop at the University of King's College School of Journalism in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3H 2A1. It covers events and issues of interest to readers in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

The Commoner is published weekly in October/November and January/February of each academic year. The workshop supervisor is Assistant Professor Dean Jobb.
